Duties
- Prepare surfaces meticulously by cleaning, sanding, plastering, caulking, and applying primer to ensure optimal paint adhesion and finish quality
- Apply paint, stains, varnishes, and specialty coatings using hand tools such as brushes, rollers, spray guns (including airless paint spraying), and power tools to achieve smooth, even coverage
- Perform renovation work including drywall repair, trim carpentry, stucco application, masonry touch-ups, and fixture installation to support comprehensive project completion
- Execute construction painting tasks on both interior and exterior surfaces in residential, commercial, and restoration settings while adhering to safety standards
- Utilize construction estimating skills to assess project requirements and materials needed for efficient job execution
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of debris responsibly while ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times
Skills
- Extensive experience with residential and commercial painting projects using various hand tools and power equipment
- Proficiency in surface preparation techniques including plastering, caulking, sanding, and masonry work
- Skilled in the use of construction estimating tools to evaluate project scope and material needs
- Familiarity with renovation processes such as remodeling, restoration, framing carpentry, trim carpentry, stucco application, concrete finishing, masonry work, fixture installation, and general maintenance tasks
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations essential for accurate work planning
- Knowledge of construction site safety procedures combined with hands-on experience working on construction sites with varied environments
- Handyman experience that supports versatile problem-solving across multiple trades
