What are the responsibilities and job description for the French Teacher – Elementary (Grades K–6) position at BC Muslim Association?
Surrey Muslim School is currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Core French Teacher to join our dynamic faculty. We are looking for an educator who is enthusiastic, caring, and capable of delivering engaging French lessons that inspire a love for language and learning among students in Kindergarten through Grade 6.

While adherence to the Muslim faith is not required, knowledge of Islamic culture and traditions is considered a strong asset.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor of Education from a recognized Canadian university
- Valid teaching certificate from a Canadian province, or in the process of obtaining one
- Specialization in French with fluency equivalent to a native speaker (spoken and written)
- Familiarity with the BC Curriculum , specifically in French as a Second Language (FSL)
- Strong classroom management skills and ability to foster a positive classroom environment
- Experience teaching primary or intermediate students (preferred)
General Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver French lessons aligned with the British Columbia curriculum
- Develop unit and lesson plans that promote student engagement and language acquisition
- Adapt instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of all students
- Maintain a classroom environment that supports safety, respect, and inclusion
- Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to foster academic excellence and holistic development
- Integrate cultural sensitivity and respect for diversity into instructional practices
