Job Description

We are seeking a Big Data Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Big Data application development, Agile delivery, and modern CI/CD practices and a proven ability to design, build, test, deploy, and maintain reliable data-intensive software.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain Big Data applications and services.
• Apply multiple design techniques to build scalable and maintainable solutions.
• Work within Agile frameworks and participate in sprint ceremonies.
• Implement Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery pipelines.
• Practice Test Driven Development to ensure code quality and reliability.
• Develop cloud-ready applications with attention to resiliency and security.
• Collaborate across software engineering disciplines including analysis, development, testing, and deployment.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proficiency in Big Data development and toolsets (e.g., Hadoop, Greenplum, or similar).
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and common frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD, TDD, cloud development, resiliency, and security practices.
• Proficiency in one or more general-purpose programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, or Scala).
• Working knowledge across software engineering disciplines from analysis through maintenance.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with distributed data processing, performance tuning, and data pipelines.
• Background in Agile/Scrum delivery with tooling for backlog and release management.
