We are a multifamily-focused general contractor based in San Diego, specializing in the construction of ground-up, mid-rise, and high-density residential projects. With a strong pipeline of developments across the County, we are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the successful delivery of multiple multifamily projects, ensuring quality, efficiency, and coordination from pre-construction through completion..
What You’ll Do:
- Assist the Lead Project Manager with technical expertise across multifamily construction projects.
- Coordinate civil, structural, and MEP design review alongside our in-house PM and external consultants.
- Ensure construction methods align with structural intent, value engineering opportunities, and code compliance.
- Oversee RFI management, submittal reviews, and technical coordination with subcontractors.
- Work closely with our project manager, superintendents, construction administrator, and owner’s rep to resolve issues promptly.
- Support city inspection coordination, especially for key milestone approvals (foundation, framing, fire, life safety).
- Provide engineering guidance related to utilities, waterproofing, shoring, podium transitions, and site logistics.
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Civil, Structural, or Construction Engineering
- Minimum 4 years experience with Type I and Type III over podium construction.
- Experience working with developers, general contractors, or design/build firms.
- Ability to read, interpret, and coordinate complex construction drawings and specifications.
- Familiarity with San Diego permitting, Title 24, CBC, and local engineering standards.
- Strong organizational and communication skills; proactive problem solver.
- Proficiency in Procore, Bluebeam, and scheduling software is a plus.
