Extraction Lab Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Lab Technician to join our high-throughput botanical extraction laboratory. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining extraction machinery, heaters, chillers, pumps, and handling compressed gases and various solvents. This role requires a candidate who is either experienced or highly competent, with strong critical thinking skills and a willingness to learn and be trained in our specialized processes. The Lab Technician will play a vital role in supporting efficient and safe laboratory operations within a fast-paced environment.

Duties

• Operate and monitor extraction equipment, including machinery, heaters, chillers, pumps, and other related devices.
• Handle and manage various solvents safely, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
• Manage the use of compressed gases, ensuring proper storage and handling in compliance with safety standards.
• Assist in the setup, calibration, and maintenance of laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Follow detailed standard operating procedures (SOPs) for extraction processes while maintaining high levels of accuracy and consistency.
• Document all procedures, observations, and results accurately in laboratory records.
• Support the training of new team members or less experienced staff as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace to promote safety and efficiency within the lab environment.
• Contribute to troubleshooting equipment issues or process deviations by applying critical thinking skills.
• Adhere strictly to safety guidelines related to handling chemicals, operating machinery, and working with compressed gases.

Skills

• Experience working with extraction machinery or similar laboratory equipment is preferred; however, candidates who are competent and willing to learn are encouraged to apply.
• Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues effectively.
• Ability to operate complex machinery safely and efficiently in a high-throughput setting.
• Knowledge of handling solvents, compressed gases, and related safety protocols.
• Excellent attention to detail for accurate documentation and process adherence.
• Good communication skills for teamwork and training purposes.
• Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety standards.
• Willingness to learn new techniques and undergo training as required.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
