Senior National Account Manager / National Account Director, Target
(US Market – Entry & Expansion Focus)
- Position Summary
The Senior National Account Manager / National Account Director, Target will lead Bc Babycare’s strategic entry and long-term growth within Target and selected key national accounts.
This role is primarily responsible for driving a 0→1 retail breakthrough at Target, including building the commercial foundation, securing initial distribution, and establishing Bc Babycare as a credible and competitive brand in the U.S. baby category.
In addition to Target, the role may also support expansion into other strategic retail channels as needed.
- Key Responsibilities
1.Target Market Entry Strategy (0→1 Focus)
- Develop and execute a comprehensive Target entry strategy, including positioning, pricing architecture, and go-to-market roadmap
- Lead all sell-in efforts to Target, including buyer outreach, pitch development, and line review presentations
- Identify the optimal entry point (category, SKU selection, price tier) to maximize probability of acceptance
- Build a compelling retailer value proposition based on data, consumer insights, and category gaps
2.Buyer Engagement & Relationship Building
- Proactively identify and establish relationships with Target Buyers, Category Managers, and relevant stakeholders
- Lead all communication and negotiation processes with Target
- Translate Bc Babycare’s brand story into retailer-relevant, data-driven narratives
- Navigate internal Target decision-making processes to drive listing approvals
3.Sell-in Excellence & Line Review Leadership
3.1 Own end-to-end preparation for line reviews and assortment discussions
- Develop best-in-class sell-in decks, including: Category insights,Competitive benchmarking,Financial justification (margin, velocity, GMROI)
- Define launch strategy including:
- SKU assortment
- Pricing & margin structure
- Promotional plan
3.2 Pre-Launch Commercial & Operational Readiness
3.3 Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure full readiness for retail entry:
- Packaging compliance (retail-ready, Target-aligned)
- Supply chain setup (OTIF capability, inventory planning)
- Regulatory and safety compliance (critical for baby category)
- Build initial forecast and inventory strategy to support launch
3.4 Multi-Channel Expansion (Secondary Responsibility)
- Support expansion into additional U.S. retail channels (e.g., mass, specialty, or online-first retailers)
- Leverage learnings from Target strategy to scale into other accounts
4.Commercial Model & Financial Planning
4.1 Build and validate the Target P&L model, including:
- Pricing waterfall
- Trade spend assumptions
- Margin structure
4.2 Ensure financial viability before market entry
4.3 Define promotional and funding strategy aligned with retailer expectations
5.Cross-Functional Leadership
- Act as the central point of coordination across Sales, Marketing, Product, Supply Chain, and Finance
- Align internal teams around U.S. retail entry strategy and priorities
- Drive execution discipline and accountability
