Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Shop Laborer to support operations in our electric motor repair shop on an as-needed basis. This role involves assisting technicians, with a primary focus on cleaning and preparing materials such as copper coils, rotor pole irons, and other related parts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and prepare parts used in rotating machinery.
- Operate tools such as die grinders, pressure washers, media blasters, and chemical baths.
- Move parts and equipment within the shop using forklifts, overhead cranes, and pallet jacks.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and PPE requirements.
- Assist with loading and unloading equipment for delivery or shipment.
- Support technicians and supervisors with general shop duties as needed.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and experience with hand/power tools.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Physically capable of lifting 50 lbs and standing for long periods.
- Forklift certification is required.
- Willingness to work overtime when needed.
