Manufacturing Lead 2nd Shift

Job Summary
The Shift Leader plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our team during assigned shifts. This position involves overseeing daily activities, managing staff, and maintaining high standards of service and quality. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, effective communication, and a commitment to fostering a positive work environment.

BBS Tech is a manufacturer of high-performance fishing line and non-fishing line braids, such as kayak control lines, spear fishing lines, and cords used in the automotive industry, specializing in producing small-diameter braids of high-performance fiber. Complementing the production of these materials, BBS provides value-added services of secondary processing in the form of end-use configuration, packaging, and logistical material handling.

Core Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day manufacturing operations to meet production goals, deadlines, and objectives.
• Operate production equipment and maintain finished product output.
• Supervise and coordinate the activities of team members during shifts to ensure efficient operations.
• Plan, organize, and monitor the workflow on the production floor, making adjustments to schedules and staffing as needed to maximize productivity.
• Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies as needed to maintain operational efficiency.
• Ensure all necessary materials, equipment, and resources are available and properly utilized by the shift team.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and quality standards.
• Resolve issues promptly to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.

Quality and safety assurance

• Implement and enforce quality control standards and procedures to ensure all products meet specifications.
• Perform regular quality inspections and address any issues promptly to prevent defects and minimize waste.
• Report any safety incidents occurring during assigned shifts, document findings, and implement corrective actions to create a zero-incident culture.

Team leadership and development

• Supervise, motivate, and coach production team to achieve performance targets and adhere to company policies.
• Lead daily shift meetings to communicate production goals. Provide feedback and promote a positive and engaged work environment.
• Identify training needs and coordinate development opportunities for team members to enhance their skills.
• Train, mentor, and support staff in their roles, providing guidance to enhance performance.

Reporting and administration

• Maintain accurate records of production activities, employee hours, and performance.
• Ensure proper and timely communication with incoming and outgoing shifts to ensure an informed and seamless shift transition.

Experience and qualifications

• A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, lead, and inspire team members.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills to troubleshoot issues and implement corrective solutions.
• Proficient in basic computer skills for reporting and communication purposes.

Education
