Hotel F&B Supervisor will provide friendly, responsive service to create an exceptional dining experience for all of our guests in regards to both food and beverage. This positions primary objective is to show our guests the most positive experience to ensure they return. Customer service aptitude and interpersonal communication skills are a must. This position reports directly to the hotel General Manager
The Hotel F&B Supervisor must have full knowledge of service procedures and functions for both food and beverage to meet standards of BBLH and the hotel brand. For food service, must be ServSafe Food Handler Certified. For beverage, Certification as required by state or local laws. Must meet legal age requirements of state, knowledge of ABC regulations for state and local offices are required.
Have the ability to promote all menu items including any special promotions and to give exceptional service. For beverage service, specialized knowledge of bartending and mixing drinks is necessary.
Job requirements include basic reading, writing, and math skills. The position will be assisting in food and beverage inventory, ordering and sanitation standards compliant with both state health codes and hotel brand standards. Also have the ability to handle money and operate a point-of-sale system. Physical requirements include: Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours), carrying 30-75 lbs, walking, lifting, reaching overhead, pushing, bending, and able to climb a ladder.
Job Duties Include, but not limited to:
- Inventory and ordering of food/beverage products – under the guidance of the General Manager
- Responsible for elevated level of all BBLH serving standards and basic understanding of food and beverage costs – to allow for accurate and educated training of new hires
- Training of all new FB associates using BBLH/Hotel Brand specified training documents
- Prepares beverages requested by guests according to standard operating procedures establishing proper portions and ingredients to control costs and provide consistent product to the guest
- Monitors guest behavior and guest alcohol consumption to determine when alcohol service to the guest should cease; notifies management of incidents involving excessive alcohol consumption or impaired condition of customers; checks identification whenever the age of a guest requesting an alcoholic beverage service is questionable
- With the guidance of the GM, mentorship of all FB Associates interaction with guest (spot checking them to be sure they are using steps of service, ringing in all items correctly, etc)
- Responsible for the overall cleanliness of all areas of FB.
- Report all equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to restaurant manager.
- Welcome and greet guests. Make all our guests feel comfortable and let them know you’re there to personally take care of them.
- Inform guests of specials and menu changes.
- Make recommendations you genuinely feel your guests will enjoy.
- Answer questions about our food, beverages and other FB functions and services.
- Take food and beverage orders from guests, enter orders in our point-of-sale system which relays orders to the kitchen and bar.
- Deliver food and beverages from kitchen and bar to guests in a timely matter.
- Perform side work at the start and end of each shift as required by service station assignment.
- Monitor and observe guests dining experience. Ensure guests are satisfied with the food and service. Respond promptly and courteously to any requests.
- Prepare final bill, present check to guest, accept payment, process credit card charges or make change (if applicable).
- Be ready and willing to assist fellow servers as situations arise.
- Thank guests for their visit and invite them to return.
- Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the FB area as directed by the general manager or immediate supervisor.
