What are the responsibilities and job description for the Service Manager position at BBEC, LLC?

This position will report to BBEC, LLC, a subsidiary of HB Global.

The requirements listed below are indicative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required.

  • Strong Customer Service relations.
  • Excellent organizational, documentation, communication, relationship and leadership skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret required documents and drawings, specifications, write reports and correspondence and speak effectively to customers, or employees of organizations.
  • Proficient in Accubid, Bluebeam, Microsoft, including Excel and Word.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Manage multiple tasks, produce quality work and meet deadlines.
  • Minimum (10) years practical experience as an electrical Foreman and/or Service Technician.
  • Minimum (2) years’ experience as an electrical Service Manager, Estimator, and/or Project Manager in a commercial/industrial environment.
  • Possesses strong knowledge of commercial and industrial facilities and control systems, including their design, operation, and integration within complex electrical infrastructures.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively and positively, managing a fast-paced service department.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds and regularly sit, stand and walk

Essential Duty Requirements:

  • Service the client in a timely and respectful manner; meeting or exceeding their expectations.
  • Lead and respond to all incoming service calls.
  • Manager all work orders from creation through completion and invoicing within Company workorder software and Apps.
  • Assign priority levels to service requests and manage monthly maintenance scheduling.
  • Create and track all work orders using company software.
  • Dispatch work orders to field personnel based on technician skill level, priority and availability.
  • Coordinate travel and lodging for field staff as needed.
  • Acquire, schedule, and release tooling, and equipment for service jobs efficiently.
  • Confirm all safety equipment and PPE are provided to Service Technicians as required.
  • Plan manpower allocation for quoted and T&M NTE work.
  • Review completed work orders and timesheets daily and ensure proper documentation.
  • Complete administrative tasks as requested.
  • Create Purchase orders for material and equipment for service work orders and projects.
  • Ensure clear communication of scope, goals and time requirements.
  • Support productivity initiatives to enhance customer service and profitability.
  • Input service contract scope and coordinate maintenance schedules with SSP Operation Manager.
  • Create and complete preventative maintenance reporting.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to coordinate service work.
  • Track business metrics and collaborate with leadership to improve operational efficiency.
  • Develop and manage after hours on call schedule for service technicians and office support.
  • Ensure all work complies with NEC, local codes, and safety regulations.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to maintain quality standards.
  • Identify opportunities for service growth and upselling.
  • Collaborate with project teams to support client needs.
  • Evening or weekend availability for emergency service calls.

  • Foster strong, trust-based relationships with clients through mutual respect, open and consistent communication.
  • Support financial goals through accurate billing and gross profit maintenance.
  • Effective coordination of service work orders, equipment, and field staff.
  • Responsible for making sure material, tools/equipment, and information is made available to the Service Technicians and Forman in a timely manner.
  • Jobsite Safety: During jobsite visits the Service Manager will oversee the installation and testing of electrical systems and ensure all personal protective gear is available and being used properly.
  • Conducting quality control inspections and tests on project deliverables to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Report to:

The Service Manager reports directly to the Service and Special Projects (SSP Operation Manager).
