Job Purpose
Step into a dynamic role supporting the retail success of iconic brands like Bluey, Doctor Who, and BBC Earth. As Manager, Retail Development, you will partner closely with the Senior Director to support retail relationships, execute omnichannel strategies, and drive growth across Walmart, Target, Specialty & Club accounts in the US and Canada.
This role helps execute retail development and marketing strategies that maximize brand presence, expand distribution, and strengthen retailer partnerships. You will coordinate programs, analyze performance, build presentations, and support day to- day account needs across top- tier- retailers.

The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $110,000. The actual base salary offered depends on the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and geographic location of the position.

Key Responsibilities And Accountabilities
- Support building relationships with buyers, marketing leads, merchant teams, and cross-functional retailer contacts across Walmart, Target, Specialty and Club channels.
- Assist in developing tailored brand and account strategies to increase visibility, distribution, and sell-through.
- Develop and deliver compelling retailer focused materials including pitch decks, sell-i-n- presentations, infographics, sizzles, visual graphics, competitive analyses, and program recaps.
- Communicate brand initiatives, content updates, marketing plans, and partner activations to retail contacts to drive alignment and enthusiasm.
- Support performance reporting, post-mortems, and KPI tracking in partnership with Sales, Category, and Insights teams.
- Contribute in planning and coordinating retail marketing programs including digital activations, in-store events, promotions, costume appearances, and other -brand building- executions.
- Collaborate with licensing partners, agencies, and internal teams to ensure programs are delivered on time and achieve positive ROI.
- Lead retail development efforts on select specialty accounts. Cultivate relationships with key buyers and marketing contacts, present brand updates and retail activation ideas, secure brand support and execute retail programs that will drive traffic, excitement and sales.
- Monitor retail and consumer trends across mass, specialty, and club channels to identify new placement, promotional, and marketing opportunities.
- Keep pulse on competitive activity and shifting retail dynamics to inform account strategies.
Knowledge
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop is a plus.
- Strong writing, design awareness, and deck building skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and cross-functional inputs.
- 3–5 years of experience in retail development, licensing, category management, shopper marketing, or related consumer/retail roles.
- Experience supporting major retail accounts (Walmart, Target, Specialty, Club, strongly preferred).
- Understanding of US retail landscape; Canadian retail familiarity a plus.
- Ability to manage overlapping projects from conception to completion.
- Passion for pop culture, global entertainment and storytelling brands.
- Proactive, collaborative team player with strong follow through .
- Self-motivated and comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
- Creative and has a love of retailing.
