Specific areas of focus for this role include supporting the overall finance team and assisting in Finance Business Partnering to aid in maximized revenue and profit, helping business owners achieve their goals.

The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $105,000-115,000. The actual base salary offered depends on the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specificand unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and geographic location of the position.

Job Purpose
The Finance Manager, Americas will support the VP of Finance, Content Sales in forecasting and reporting on the financial performance of the region. Specific areas of focus for this role include supporting the overall finance team and assisting in Finance Business Partnering to aid in maximized revenue and profit, helping business owners achieve their goals.
Principal Accountabilities
- Work as integral part of the Americas Finance team, working closely with all members and stakeholders.
- Deliver effective financial management, control and advisory support to optimize business performance of Content Sales and Home Entertainment lines of business.
- Help to solve business problems and progress a variety of projects.
- Project and load Budget and Forecast P&L, balance sheet and cash impact in line with contractual arrangements for Content deals.
- Facilitate a collaborative working environment by sharing information and collaboration across regions and Group Finance. Take lead on Group Finance projects as needed.
- Provide initial advice regarding accounting treatments under IFRS and liaise with the Group Finance team if further guidance is required.
- Build business models as needed to monitor the business.
- Attend divisional team meetings and business updates/leadership meetings
- Assist in the preparation of Quarterly Performance Review (QPR) and other presentations.
- Present on results, business cases and other matters to various audiences as needed.
- Promote and share finance best practices across the region and Group Finance.
- Participate in the development of the overall BBC Studios financial strategy to ensure long-term financial position is accurately modelled and forecast.
- Assist with various projects as they arise.
- Ensure effective governance, risk management and internal compliance processes and controls are in place, considering local laws, for example in Canada and UK.
- Develop and maintain excellent relationships with all relevant stakeholders, both internal and external, including partners at Warner Brothers, Media Morph, various key licensees and others.
- Work closely with VP Commercial Finance/Controls to manage and track forecasting and reporting.
- Work closely with Content Sales management to drive business performance by providing objective advice, insight and challenge, effectively acting as a catalyst for change.
- Work closely with VP of Finance, Content Sales to liaise with Latin America, Canada, and US sales teams to monitor deals. Assist with developing processes for AVOD/FAST business.
- Work with Group and VP Commercial Finance/Controls to ensure compliance with accounting treatment, internal policies and consistent reporting. Flag any issues as they arise.
- Support Actuals & Reporting team with month-end activities by understanding the related forecasts, reviewing for reasonableness and providing insightful commentary.
The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate the following:
- Strong accounting and finance background with a recognized accounting qualification (CPA or international equivalent preferred) and 7 years of professional experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- Knowledge of SAP (S4 Hana), BPC, Analysis for Office
- Strong working knowledge of IFRS
- Strong technical and organizational abilities paired with a commitment to being a team-player who can operate with intelligence and tact
- Experience working in the media sector; working in a commercial environment as part of an overseas subsidiary or matrixed organization a plus
- Able to build and maintain strong relationships and strategic partnerships across the BBC and with external stakeholders
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to influence, persuade and shape optimal decision-making; demonstrates resolve, calmness and poise as necessary
- Able to act objectively and understand, analyze and simplify complex problems and processes, and construct frameworks for problem solving
- Shows initiative and originates action; ability to work under pressure and deliver a quality product within agreed timeframes; reliable, proactive, imaginative, responsible
- Adaptable, commercial, creative, high energy
- Able to develop and manage relatively complex Excel models and analyses, effective in Word and PowerPoint
