- Prepare protection and control deliverables such as electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, protection logic and control schemes
- Prepare protection relay setting and configuration files (GE, SEL, ABB, Siemens, etc.)
- Prepare engineering studies and reports (protection coordination studies, short circuit analysis, power flow calculation, arc-flash analysis, battery and charger calculations, transformer sizing, etc.)
- Develop HMIs, network architectures and RTU configurations
- Help prepare technical specifications, reports and other documentation for protection and control systems
- Assist with commissioning and testing of protection and control systems
- Review and seal (Professional Engineer License) protection and control designs
- Develop or review outage, cut-over and testing procedures
- Collaborate with client technical representatives
- Work on proposal development, including writing and/or reviewing technical specifications and estimating project costs
- Thirst to learn and excel

- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
- Registered as a Professional Engineer or eligible to register within one month of hiring
- Over 8 years of experience within electric utility, power generation and renewables industries in the U.S.
- Hands-on experience preparing protection system basis-of-design documents
- Knowledge of CADD software
- Experience preparing logic diagrams, protection philosophies, wiring diagrams, single-line diagrams, three-line diagrams and other P&C deliverables
- Experience selecting, setting and troubleshooting protective relays (SEL, GE, Siemens)
- Experience preparing engineering studies and reports (protection coordination studies, short-circuit analysis, power-flow calculations, arc-flash analysis, battery and charger calculations, transformer sizing, etc.)
- A working knowledge of communication protocols (MODBUS, DNP3, IEC61850)
- Knowledge of relay testing equipment and experience with P&C commissioning
- Experience preparing project estimates
- Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Basic understanding of utility cybersecurity standards
- Asset: experience configuration and programming PLCs and DCS
