About the Role
Ben Bellucci Academy is seeking an enthusiastic, versatile, and reliable After-School Multi-Sport Instructor to lead dynamic youth programs, primarily focusing on Basketball, Soccer, and Flag Football, for elementary students throughout St. Johns County, FL. This role is perfect for a coach with expertise across these three core sports, a passion for teaching, and the ability to create a fun, safe, and positive learning environment where children can develop fundamental skills and a lifelong love for physical activity.
Responsibilities
- Lead age-appropriate drills, activities, and games for programs centered around Basketball, Soccer, and Flag Football.
- Teach essential, sport-specific skills and concepts, including dribbling, passing, shooting, defense, teamwork, and flag-pulling, adaptable for all three sports.
- Organize and manage small-sided scrimmages, skill challenges, and games to reinforce rules and strategies effectively.
- Ensure a positive, safe, and inclusive environment for all participants on the court and field.
- Prepare simple, dynamic lesson plans that easily transition between the different sports and age groups.
- Motivate, mentor, and encourage students through positive coaching and strong leadership.
- Set up, manage, and clean up equipment for all respective sports before and after sessions at various program sites.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children (teaching, coaching, or mentoring preferred).
- Strong working knowledge and demonstrated ability to instruct the fundamentals of Basketball, Soccer, and Flag Football.
- Excellent communication, group management, and enthusiastic leadership skills.
- Organized, dependable, and energetic personality.
- CPR/First Aid certification is a plus (or willingness to obtain).
- Must pass a background check.
Schedule & Pay
- After-school hours, typically 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, 1–5 days per week (schedule flexibility based on program needs).
- Each session lasts about 1.5 hours (including setup and cleanup).
- Pay: $20–$25/hour depending on experience and certifications.
