Job Summary:
The primary function of this role is to support the Quality Control and Quality Assurance departments in testing, ensuring proper cGMP compliance and maintaining controlled documents that relate to the production of packaged food and the accompanying regulatory compliance. This position also oversees the quality control lab calibration/verification program of equipment such as balances, thermometers, and other scientific equipment.
Primary Duties:
Assure all food products meet or exceed quality standards set forth by the company and safety standards set forth by national, state, and local regulatory bodies.
· Audit production lines to ensure product coming off the lines is safe and of the highest quality.
· Verify that production paperwork is accurate and complete.
· Verification of non-GMO, Gluten Free, and Organic Compliance documentation.
· Gluten testing, swabbing and allergen testing of food contact surfaces.
· Check the functionality of equipment as it pertains to food safety and quality.
· Monitor/enforce cGMP compliance within the facility.
· Monitor cleanliness of production equipment as it pertains to food safety/allergen control.
· Administer the relevant QC/QA documentation and testing required on daily basis.
· Monitor lab supplies, calibration frequencies and verification of lab equipment as well as associated documentation.
· Understand the food safety and quality aspects of the position as indicated on and SOP's that apply to 21CFR-117 and the Food Safety Modernization Act of 2015 (FSMA)
· Perform Administrator responsibilities for the storage of retains, management of test data and samples to be tested.
· Other Quality Control responsibilities as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
The candidate must have the following minimum experience and background to successfully succeed in this position.
Required:
· High school diploma or GED
· Experience working with Microsoft Office: Word and Excel
· Able to speak, read, and write the English language
· Able to work in a fast paced environment with constantly changing needs
· Able to work weekends and overtime
Preferred:
· A 2-year degree with 1-3 years of experience
· Excellent interpersonal communication skills in facilitating cooperation amongst departments to achieve customer satisfaction.
· Bilingual Spanish/English
· Highly organized with skills to continuously improve and drive processes to reduce waste and unnecessary tasks
Physical Demands:
· Necessary to lift up to twenty-five pounds (25lbs) while bending at knees, waist, and twisting upper body
· This position requires the employee to stand or walk on average 75% of workday
