What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cable Installer/Technician position at Bazon Cox & Associates?
Role Responsibilities
- Install CAT5e, CAT6, Coax, and Fiber Optic cables in various environments, including both aerial and underground pathways, while complying with all Safety Standards and Codes.
- Run cables from telecom equipment racks to end locations (above ceilings, in walls, or below floors).
- Install cable pathways such as trays, troughs, harnesses, and j-hooks.
- Install MPLS, faceplates, surface mount raceways, and jacks with proper numbering and cable labeling.
Qualifications (required)
- Proficient with hand and power tools.
- Ability to follow directions from multiple sources.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs regularly and 75 lbs occasionally.
- Able to differentiate colors for color-coded wiring.
- Skilled in manual dexterity for small tool work.
- Comfortable working in diverse environments (office, schools, construction).
- Flexible to work various shifts.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Able to climb ladders, work overhead, and kneel for extended periods.
- Must have reliable transportation if a company vehicle is unavailable.
Qualifications (preferred)
- Additional Trade school
- Confined space training
- BICSI clearance
- DOD clearance
Compensation
Hourly compensation is based on job knowledge. Additional compensation, when available, may include:
- Travel per diem
- Mileage reimbursement
- Wage scale adjustments
