CONSTRUCTION OPERATORS

· We are hiring a Skilled Construction Operator. The Construction Operator operates one or several types of power construction equipment such as bulldozers, scrapers, compressors, pumps, shovels, tractors, or front-end loaders to excavate, move, and grade earth, erect structures, or pour concrete or other hard surface pavement.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

· Takes actions to avoid potential hazards and obstructions, such as utility lines, other equipment, other workers, and falling objects

· Starts engines, moves throttles, switches, and levers, and depress pedals to operate machines such as trench excavators, material handlers, man lifts, forklift trucks, and backhoes

· Locates underground services, such as pipes and wires, prior to beginning work.

· Loads and moves dirt, rocks, equipment, and materials, using trucks, crawler tractors, shovels, graders, or related equipment

· Reads, understands and builds according to the plans and superintendent’s instructions. Monitors operations to ensure that health and safety standards are met

· Adheres to company policies with regard to safe operation and cleanliness of the equipment and the use of personal protective equipment

· Operates construction hand tools and other specialized equipment

· Works with other crew personnel in a safe, organized and enjoyable work environment.

· Applies good customer service and maintain a clean work site

· Check and maintain fluids prior to each shirt start including fuels as prescribed by owner’s manual

· Report wear, damages and failures via photo emailed to management

· Reports servicing intervals to management via email daily

· Maintains cleaning and housekeeping of cab

· Maintains and protects owner operators manual and service maintenance located on the machine

· Performs other related duties as assigned by management

QUALIFICATIONS:

· 3 years’ experience running, maneuvering, driving, and navigating equipment such as backhoes, excavators, rollers, motor graders, and front-end loaders.

· Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of houses, buildings, or other structures such as highways and roads.

· Must be able to communicate with others to convey information effectively.

· Must be accustomed to working outdoors with exposure to all weather conditions.
