Purpose:

BayWa r.e. Americas is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Accounting team.

The Senior Accountant helps ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records, including reconciling accounts, overseeing the general ledger, and managing month-end and year-end closings. Our Senior Accountant is responsible for day-to-day operations, preparing financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing support during audits.

Responsibilities we will trust you with:

Success in this role involves:

• Manage assigned tasks for month-end and year-end closings, including preparing journal entries, accruals, and GL account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy in reconciling related-party transactions with other BayWa entities.
• Oversee weekly cash forecasts and payment runs, acting as the primary liaison with Headquarters for funding coordination.
• Perform bank reconciliations
• Reconcile related party loan by projects
• Manage credit card and expense reimbursement processes, including liaising with Concur, credit card companies, and the bank, ensuring compliance with company policies, and preparing related journal entries in SAP ByDesign.
• Assist in reviewing accounts payable (AP) entries and journal entries prepared by the accountant for accuracy.
• Prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP and IFRS (standalone or consolidated) and analyze financial information for legal entities or consolidated projects.
• Support year-end IFRS and GAAP audits, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance.
• Perform other accounting duties as assigned.

Your areas of knowledge and expertise:

The ideal candidate demonstrates:

• Must have more than 3 years of accounting work experience
• Proven knowledge of financial reporting, accounting principles, practices and standards
• BS degree in Accounting. CPA licensee preferred
• Audit experience preferred
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Flexible and willing to perform other tasks as assigned in a dynamic work environment
• Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software and databases
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
• Construction, real estate or renewable energy industry background preferred
• SAP ByDesign experience strongly preferred

• Total compensation package dependent upon a number of factors, including candidate’s professional experience, candidate’s skills, position’s seniority level, department’s hiring budget, and position’s location.
• The salary range for this role is $100,000 to $110,000.
