Golf Shop Supervisor Duties
A Golf Shop Supervisor plays a key role in managing the day-to-day operations of the golf shop and supporting overall golf course activities. The role blends retail management, customer service, and operational oversight, ensuring smooth service and efficient operations.
Core Responsibilities
- Operational Oversight: Managing daily golf course activities, tee times, events, and course operations
- Customer Service Leadership: Build positive guest relationships, handle inquiries, cancellations, and confirmations professionally, and ensure all service interactions meet high standards
- Staff Supervision: Supervise and train team members such as Merchandise Coordinators, Golf Shop Attendants; assign tasks, monitor performance, and maintain service standards
- Retail & Merchandising Management: Oversee opening/closing procedures, inventory management, merchandising, and POS systems; ensure accurate cash handling and sales reporting
- Facility & Building Management: Address facility issues (cleanliness, security, utilities, emergencies) and ensure proper check-in of fees and charges
- Event Support: Assist in planning and coordinating in-season and off-season events, including tournaments and other golf related activities
- Marketing & Promotion: Assist social media content creator with upcoming events, new course implementations and progression, promote events and specials, and maintain a consistent brand image
- Financial & Recordkeeping Duties: Assist Office Manager with daily cash reports, end of day deposit reports, and inventory reports; assist with budgeting and sales goals
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments (Assistant Professionals, Restaurant GM, Guest Services) to meet facility goals
- Communication: Maintain regular updates with the Assistant Professionals, Social Media Content Creator, programming, staff, and guest matters
