Duties
As a Veterinary Technician, your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures
- Performing diagnostic tests and laboratory work, including blood draws and urinalysis
- Administering medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed
- Monitoring animal patients pre- and post-operatively for signs of recovery or complications
- Maintaining accurate medical records and documentation for each patient
- Educating pet owners on proper care, nutrition, and preventive health measures
- Utilizing aseptic techniques to ensure cleanliness and safety in the clinic
- Handling and restraining animals safely during examinations or procedures
- Providing ancillary services as needed for pets in our care (nail trims, anal gland expressions, ear cleanings)
Experience
The successful candidate will possess the following skills:
- Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a Veterinary Technician
- Strong knowledge of animal anatomy and physiology
- Experience with veterinary critical care practices
- Proficiency in dog handling techniques and general animal handling skills
- Familiarity with aseptic technique protocols in a clinical setting
- Ability to perform animal catheterization and restraint effectively
- Prior experience in pet grooming is a plus
