Nuclear Med Tech in Springfield, MA | Baystate Health Careers Department: Noninvasive Stress Testing Location: 3300 Main Street, Springfield, Massachusetts Job Type: Per Diem Shift: All Make an Impact with Baystate Health Baystate Health is seeking a Nuclear Medical Technologist (Nuc Med Tech) to join our Noninvasive Stress Testing team at Baystate Health in Springfield, Massachusetts. Our Noninvasive Stress Testing team builds effective relationships with customers, both internal and external, and seeks to provide an experience of excellence with each patient encounter. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist role gives you the opportunity to use your imaging expertise to make a real difference in a patient’s care. You’ll perform specialized diagnostic and therapeutic procedures while helping patients and families feel informed, comfortable, and cared for throughout their experience. The Nuclear Med Tech Will: Perform a wide variety of general nuclear medicine, cardiac, and therapeutic procedures according to the policies set forth by the Clinical/Medical Director of the nuclear medicine department. Proficiently perform, understand, and process all nuclear medicine procedures including, but not limited to, patient scans, of all age groups and demographic (neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, geriatric, special needs and disabilities) and quality control (cameras, uptake probes, and hot lab equipment). Demonstrate the ability to identify potential problems and is able to direct these issues to appropriate personnel in a timely manner. Perform all hot lab duties, including kit preparation in accordance with the package insert, wipe testing, dosage assaying, room surveying, receiving and logging radioactive materials, waste monitoring and disposing. Mentor and guides enrolled students in accordance with departmental guidelines in a professional manner. Display effective communication skills and conveys relative information to pertinent personnel including fellow technologists, radiologists, cardiologists, patient nursing staff, ordering physicians and their offices. Portray a compassionate and professional demeanor to all patients and their families, as well as fellow health care providers. Work well as part of a team, and adhere to system and department compliance, all applicable laws and regulations, and perform other duties as deemed appropriate or assigned.
