Product Strategist – Life Insurance
Role Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytically driven Life Insurance Product Strategist to support financial advisors in designing and implementing insurance solutions that align with clients’ broader financial planning objectives. This role bridges product expertise and holistic planning, helping ensure life insurance strategies are fully integrated into comprehensive financial plans
Compensation:
Salary range for this position is $55,000–$75,000 base, commensurate with experience, and includes a comprehensive benefits package. This is a salaried position with performance-based bonus opportunities. No sales or commissions are involved.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with financial advisors to evaluate client cases and identify appropriate life insurance strategies within the context of overall financial plans (retirement, estate, tax, and risk management)
- Conduct product research and comparisons across carriers to determine optimal solutions based on client needs, underwriting considerations, and cost efficiency
- Assist in designing and illustrating life insurance strategies, including protection, wealth transfer, and supplemental income concepts
- Analyze in-force policies and provide recommendations for optimization, replacement, or restructuring where appropriate
- Support case development by preparing presentations, proposals, and client-facing materials
- Stay current on industry trends, product developments, and regulatory changes impacting life insurance planning
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners (underwriters, wholesalers, and carriers) to move cases through the pipeline efficiently
- Help develop best practices and internal resources to enhance the firm’s insurance planning capabilities.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 1–2 years in life insurance or financial services preferred
- Working knowledge of life insurance products (term, whole, UL, VUL, IUL)
- Life, Accident & Health license or willingness to obtain
- Series 6 license or willingness to obtain
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple cases
- Client-focused mindset with collaborative, team-oriented approach
