What are the responsibilities and job description for the Home Health Doctor of Physical Therapy position at Bayside Wellness Hospice and Home Health?
Physical Therapist (DPT) – Home Health (Flexible Schedule & Local Culture)
Tired of the 45-minute clinic treadmill? Come back to the reason you became a PT. At Bayside Wellness, we believe that the best healing happens when a Physical Therapist is given the time, autonomy, and support to treat the whole person—not just a symptoms list. We are a locally owned, mission-driven team in Traverse City that has intentionally traded “corporate nonsense” for compassionate, high-quality care .The Bayside Difference:
- True Work-Life Balance: We offer a Flexible Schedule that respects your life outside of work. You manage your day; we support your success.
- Quality over Quantity: We prioritize a Manageable Caseload because we know that clinical excellence requires time and mental clarity.
- One-on-One Autonomy: No double-booking. You work one-on-one with patients in their own environment, where you can see the real-world impact of your interventions.
- A Culture of Connection: We are neighbors serving neighbors. You aren’t just a provider; you’re a vital part of a supportive, interdisciplinary team that actually knows your name.
Your Role:
As our Home Health DPT, you won’t just be “doing exercises.” You will be the architect of recovery for our Northwest Michigan community. Your day-to-day includes:
- Conducting comprehensive evaluations to understand the “why” behind a patient’s condition.
- Developing creative, personalized treatment plans that help patients regain their independence.
- Educating families and caregivers, empowering them to be partners in the healing process.
- Collaborating with our specialized nurses and medical director to provide truly holistic care.
What You Bring:
- The Credentials: A Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy (DPT) and a valid Michigan PT license.
- The Heart: A genuine passion for person-centered care and a desire to work with vulnerable populations.
- The Skill: Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology, with the ability to adapt your clinical skills to the home setting. (Trigger point therapy or specialized home health experience is a major plus!)
- The Drive: You enjoy working independently but value being part of a team that is available 24/7 for our families.
Why Join Us?
Beyond competitive pay and full benefits (including HSA options and PTO), we offer work that is deeply meaningful. If you’re ready to leave the high-volume burnout behind and join a team that values your expertise and your heart, we want to meet you.
