W2 Contract

Pay Rate: $50 - $53 per hour

Location: Newark, CA - Onsite Role

Job Summary:

We are looking for a formulation Research Associate on a contract basis for a duration of 6 months. This person would be responsible for preparing tablets and capsules for dosing in preclinical studies and conducting solubility studies on discovery compounds. This person would have experience in manufacturing either oral or parenteral formulations, but preferably in oral solid dose forms (tablets, capsules). This person should be experienced in general laboratory procedures and maintenance. The ideal candidate would be familiar with drug formulation and preparation of oral solution, suspension, tablet, and capsule formulations. Experience with solid oral dosage forms is required. The person would be working mainly on preclinical projects in early clinical development.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Independently prepare solid oral (tablet and capsule) and parenteral dosage forms for preclinical studies.
• Maintain good documentation for the experiments conducted in the laboratory.
• Coordinate shipment of test articles to the external CRO.
• Prepare buffers and vehicles for general lab applications.
• Manage laboratory excipient inventory and supplies.
• Engage equipment service and sales representatives for new equipment purchases, installation, and routine maintenance of laboratory equipment.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• BS in chemistry, engineering, pharmaceutics, or other related scientific discipline
• 2-5 years of experience in drug formulation; or an MS in chemistry, engineering, pharmaceutics, or other related scientific discipline with 1-2 years of experience in drug formulation.
• Experience with formulating solid oral dose forms is a requirement.
• Knowledge of bench-scale processes for making tablets and capsules.
