Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive electrical systems, schematics, and advanced diagnostic tools to identify issues accurately.
- Conduct repairs on various vehicle systems including engines, transmissions, powertrains, suspensions, alignments, brakes, shocks & struts, and steering components.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools to replace or repair parts such as air brakes, wheel bearings, belts, hoses, and other mechanical components.
- Execute routine maintenance tasks like oil changes, tire service, wheel alignments, suspension inspections, and vehicle fluid replacements to ensure peak performance.
- Repair or replace auto body components when necessary and perform welding tasks to restore structural integrity.
- Read and interpret technical schematics and automotive repair manuals for precise repairs on GM vehicles or other makes.
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly and ensuring their satisfaction with the work performed.
Qualifications
- Proven mechanic experience with a strong background in automotive diagnostics and repairs across various systems.
- Dealership experience is highly preferred for familiarity with manufacturer-specific procedures.
- Knowledge of ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), diesel engine repair, and automotive electrical systems is a plus.
- Proficiency with schematics, auto estimating software, and understanding of powertrain components.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other automotive maintenance tools.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues efficiently.
- Experience working on transmissions,, wheel alignments, suspension systems, tire service, shocks & struts repairs.
- Ability to work safely following all safety protocols related to air brake systems and other hazardous materials.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service; ability to explain technical issues clearly.
