Responsibilities
- Assist with meal and snack preparation according to established menus and dietary requirements
- Prepare and portion food for residents, ensuring meals are served accurately and attractively
- Deliver and serve meals and beverages to residents
- Assist residents with meal service when needed
- Follow resident-specific diets, allergies, food preferences, and special meal requirements
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen, dining areas, equipment, and work surfaces
- Wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and food service equipment
- Stock and organize food and dietary supplies
- Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and infection-control procedures
- Complete assigned cleaning duties and maintain a safe work environment
- Work cooperatively with cooks, dietary staff, nursing staff, and other members of the care team
- Treat residents with dignity, respect, patience, and kindness
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Previous food service, dietary, restaurant, or healthcare experience preferred, but not required
- Must be dependable, punctual, and willing to work as part of a team
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Must be able to safely perform the physical requirements of the position, including standing for extended periods, walking, bending, lifting, and carrying food service items
- Must be willing to comply with all applicable health, safety, sanitation, and facility requirements
