Now Hiring: Sponsorship Sales Representative
Commission-Only Independent Contractor
Bayou Nation is a multi-sport complex in the New Orleans area hosting baseball, softball, 7v7 football, flag football, soccer, and other events throughout the year.
Our signature events are week-long “tournications,” bringing travel teams from across the country to New Orleans for tournament vacations that combine competition, hospitality, tourism, and memories families talk about for years.
We are looking for one primary, designated Sponsorship Sales Representative to lead sponsorship sales for the Bayou Nation complex and its events, while building and managing the sponsor portfolio behind them.
What You’ll Do
- Identify and prospect local, regional, and national sponsors
- Sell every level of sponsorship, from standard packages to Title Partner and Field Naming opportunities
- Build and manage relationships with sponsor decision-makers
- Run the full sales process from first contact through signed agreement and payment collection
- Maintain an accurate pipeline with follow-ups, proposals, and next steps
- Register all prospects in the shared pipeline tracker
- Work with Bayou Nation to ensure sponsor commitments are properly documented and delivered
- Help create customized sponsorship opportunities that create value for both the sponsor and Bayou Nation
- Work with Bayou Nation leadership on strategic introductions and key accounts
Bayou Nation leadership has strong relationships in the New Orleans business community and will make introductions when appropriate. Opportunities introduced and assigned to you by Bayou Nation will pay the same commission rates as opportunities you source independently.
Bayou Nation ownership may also negotiate and close certain sponsorships directly. Those accounts are not commissionable unless Bayou Nation assigns the opportunity to you in writing before your sales work begins.
Compensation
This is a commission-only opportunity. Commissions are paid monthly, within 30 days after Bayou Nation receives the sponsor’s payment.
Revenue Type Commission
| New sponsors, first contract year - 12% on the first $200,000 collected
| New-sponsor revenue above $200,000 - 15% on collected revenue above $200,000
| 5% Renewals and contract years 2 and 3 of multi-year deals
| 0% Activation fees

Commissions are paid on collected cash only. Refunds, credits, and unpaid amounts do not earn commission. Commission previously paid on revenue that is later refunded or charged back may be adjusted.
Renewal commissions are paid on a sponsor’s first two renewals only. After contract year 3, the sponsor becomes a Bayou Nation house account.
All commission calculations, account ownership, multi-year agreements, payment timing, and termination terms will be governed by the independent contractor agreement.
Unregistered prospects are not eligible for commission.
Compensation is uncapped, subject to available sponsorship inventory and the commission terms above.
Performance Expectations
- $50,000 collected during the first six months
- $200,000 collected during the first twelve months
If these minimums are not met, Bayou Nation may bring on additional representatives, change account access, or end the relationship.
Working Arrangement
- Commission-only independent contractor opportunity
- One primary, designated representative for Bayou Nation sponsorship sales
- You may work with other non-competing companies, events, or properties, provided there is no conflict of interest or misuse of Bayou Nation’s confidential information
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in sponsorship, partnership, advertising, fundraising, or B2B sales
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills
- Comfort selling premium, customized opportunities
- Self-direction, organization, and consistent follow-through
- Willingness to prospect proactively rather than wait for leads
- Patience and discipline to manage a longer sales cycle
- Existing relationships with brands, businesses, sports organizations, tourism companies, or community partners preferred
Sponsors do not just put their name on a sign at Bayou Nation. They reach thousands of athletes and families from multiple sports throughout the year, including teams traveling to New Orleans for week-long events.
