Position Summary
The Junior On-Site Project Manager (I&E) assists with the planning, coordination, execution, and closeout of industrial instrumentation and electrical construction projects. This role serves as the liaison between field operations, clients, subcontractors, vendors, and the home office to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with Bayou Electrical Services' quality standards.
This position is designed for experienced Foremen or General Foremen who are ready to transition into project management and develop the skills necessary to manage larger, more complex projects independently.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Project Coordination
- Assist with managing the day-to-day operations of assigned projects.
- Coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, and subcontractors.
- Monitor project schedules and proactively identify potential delays.
- Support project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Track project progress and communicate status updates to the Project Manager.
- Assist in planning work activities to maximize productivity and efficiency.
Field Operations
- Work closely with field supervision to ensure work is performed safely and efficiently.
- Conduct routine jobsite walks to monitor productivity, quality, and project progress.
- Coordinate with engineering, clients, vendors, and field personnel to resolve project issues.
- Ensure installations comply with project drawings, specifications, codes, and customer requirements.
- Assist with project startup, turnover, and closeout activities.
Client Relations
- Maintain professional relationships with clients, inspectors, and site representatives.
- Attend project meetings and document action items.
- Assist in resolving customer concerns promptly and professionally.
- Represent Bayou Electrical Services in a professional manner at all times.
Safety & Compliance
- Promote and enforce Bayou Electrical Services' safety culture and policies.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and client-specific safety requirements.
- Participate in safety meetings, audits, and incident investigations as required.
- Support implementation of Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), permits, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and other required safety procedures.
- Encourage proactive hazard identification and corrective actions.
Quality Assurance
- Assist with project quality inspections and documentation.
- Coordinate completion of punch list items.
- Verify work meets project specifications and client expectations.
- Ensure project documentation is accurate, complete, and submitted on time.
Cost & Documentation
- Assist with tracking labor hours, material usage, equipment costs, and productivity.
- Review daily reports for completeness and accuracy.
- Support change order documentation and tracking.
- Assist with project forecasting and budget monitoring.
- Maintain organized project files and records.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- 3–7 years of industrial electrical and instrumentation construction experience.
- Previous experience as a Foreman or General Foreman preferred.
- Basic understanding of industrial construction project management.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, P&IDs, and project specifications.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
