The Employee Relations Specialist partners closely with clinical and operational leadership to manage workplace concerns, conduct investigations, and ensure consistent application of policies and employment laws.
What You’ll Do
- Serve as the first point of contact for employee and manager inquiries related to employee relations, performance management, and workplace concerns
- Conduct objective, thorough employee relations investigations and recommend appropriate outcomes
- Coach and support leaders on disciplinary actions, performance improvement plans, and documentation standards
- Review and ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance of all disciplinary and PIP documentation
- Facilitate productive conversations that promote accountability, resolution, and positive employee experiences
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation in HR systems, including ExponentHR and Monday.com
- Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, Internal Audit, and Leave Administration teams as needed
- Act as a subject matter expert on employee relations, providing guidance, training, and process improvement recommendations
- Support job description creation and maintenance, ensuring accuracy and FLSA compliance
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum of 3 years of employee relations experience, including investigations and performance management
- Experience supporting multi-site, multi-state operations, including working knowledge of federal and state employment laws (Title VII, ADA, ADEA; California experience preferred)
- Strong judgment, discretion, and ability to handle sensitive matters with professionalism and empathy
- Excellent communication, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with HRIS platforms (ExponentHR) and project tools (Monday.com) preferred
- HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) preferred
