Responsible for the day to day operation of the operating room schedule as the “Boardrunner.”

Verifying availability of all supplies and equipment required for successful operation of the Operating Room.

Provision of qualified staff, formulation of a schedule which provides staff availability as appropriate for optimum patient care. Adjusts staffing patterns based on staffing efficiency data, budgetary guidelines and volume and intensity of service.

Assign qualified personnel as appropriate; delegating specific duties and tasks.
|
Assist in the development, revision and implementation of OR policies and procedures.
|
Assist with monthly staff meetings and in-services.
|
Provide orientation for new OR staff members.
|
Assist in formulating payroll, if needed.
|
Meets staffing productivity goals on a daily and weekly basis.
|
Works at maintaining good rapport/cooperative working relationship with physicians, departments and staff.

Adheres to the AORN Standards of Care.

This role at Baylor Scott & White Sunnyvale Medical Center will provides leadership and support to the senior executive position (CNO) responsible for all nursing and other designated patient care functions/services within the hospital organization. The role will assume responsibility for assisting in assessing, planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating nursing practice on a unit level. Role assumes 24/7 responsibility of manager’s assigned areas. The role is accountable to support CNO to ensure high quality, safe and appropriate nursing care, competency of clinical staff, and appropriate resource management related to patient care.
Regulatory Requirements:
- Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Texas, BSN preferred.
- Certified Surgical Services Manager (CSSM) or Certified Perioperative Nurse (CNOR) preferred.
- Must be able to operate as an RN Circulator when needed
- Current BLS certification, ACLS certification and PALS required
- At least 1 year of nursing management experience
- At least 3 years of experience in surgical nursing required
