Baylor School Shop Manager
Reports To:
Director of Grounds/Transportation
Job Overview
Baylor School is seeking a shop manager to perform a variety of duties to ensure safe and consistent operation for all grounds equipment and provides maintenance support for the transportation fleet. This position is also responsible for developing and maintaining positive working relationships with all area vendors and contractors who are used on large project work.
Primary Duties
· Operates and maintains a working machine shop capable of performing a variety of repairs on equipment and vehicles associated with the physical plant.
· Evaluates equipment and vehicles to determine in-house repairs, contract repairs, or replacement.
· Provide transportation director with options for in-house repair and/or recommendations for contract repair or replacement.
· Manages the maintenance on Baylor’s golf cart fleet, trailers, and marine crafts.
· Will establish repair priorities for emergency repairs.
· Maintains repair records on all equipment.
· Maintains inventory of common equipment maintenance and repair parts.
· Develops and implements preventive maintenance programs to ensure maximum efficiency of equipment.
· Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
· Communicates and reports any needs or problems relating to equipment.
· Responsible for preventive maintenance programs identified by manufacturers requirements.
· Will assist with necessary manual labor in downtime/ off-seasons, such as but not limited to pressure washing, weed eating, mulching, and bus washing.
Knowledge and Skills Required
· High School Diploma/GED Required
· ASE Certification Preferred
· 5 Years Automotive, Tractor, and Golf Cart Repair Experience
· Knowledge of Tools and Equipment Required to Conduct Repairs.
· Ability to Operate Diagnostic Tools Required
· CDL License Desired
· Excellent Communication Skills
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
