The Senior Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) Developer is responsible for the design, development and implementation of LIMS solutions to enhance laboratory operations and data management. This role involves working closely with stakeholders to understand requirements, developing custom solutions, and ensuring the LIMS system effectively supports laboratory workflows. Qualifications and Experience:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Master’s degree or relevant certificates (e.g. Certificated LIMS Professional) preferred.
Experiences:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in LIMS development or similar roles, with a strong background in designing and implementing LIMS solutions within SAPIO.
- Proven experience with LIMS platforms such as SAPIO (required), LabWare, STARLIMS, or LabVantage.
- Strong understanding of laboratory workflows and data management requirements.
- Experience in project management and leading technical teams is preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design, develop and customize LIMS solutions to meet laboratory requirements and improve operational efficiencies.
- Collaborate with laboratory personnel to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications and solutions.
- Develop and maintain LIMS interfaces and integrations with other systems such as ERP, CRM, and data analysis tools.
- Lead the implementation of LIMS projects, including system configuration, data migration, and user training.
- Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for LIMS systems, addressing issues and ensuring system stability and performance.
- Develop and maintain documentation relating to LIMS configuration, customization, and procedure.
- Manage LIMS development projects, including planning, execution and delivery with specified timelines and budgets.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including IT, laboratory staff, and vendors, to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to stakeholders on project status, risks, and issues.
- Evaluate and recommend improvements to LIMS functionalities and processes to enhance system performance and user experience.
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements in LIMS technology and apply relevant knowledge to improve the system performance.
- Ensure LIMS solutions comply with regulatory requirements and industry standards for data integrity, security, and quality.
- Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of LIMS data.
- Develop and deliver training programs for end-users to ensure effective use of the LIMS system.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, Including system specifications, user manuals, and training materials.
- Collaborate with other IT and development teams to integrate LIMS with other systems and ensure seamless integration/data flow.
- Work closely with laboratory staff to understand their needs and ensure LIMS solutions support their workflows.
