What We Are Looking For
Baylor University is seeking an Academic Advisor to support the mission of the university by providing critical support to the Hankamer School of Business student population and ensuring students maintain satisfactory academic progress toward degree completion.
A Bachelor's degree and up to one year of relevant work experience is required. A Master’s degree and two years of relevant work experience is preferred.
*All applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
What You Will Do
- Assist students in developing educational plans, selecting courses and evaluating academic progress
- Provide information on University resources available to students
- Assist new students about learning about majors and programs offered
- Prepare and update advising materials, degree plans and websites
- Design and implement academic workshops to promote success and retention
- Maintain relationships with University constituents
- Assist in planning and developing advising support services
- Ensure a high level of confidentiality
- Present to small and large groups of parents and students
- Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission
- Ability to comply with University policies
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance
