Sterile Processing Technician (Day Shift)
Location: Peoria, IL
Start Date: 01/05/2026
Assignment Length: 13 Weeks
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Pay:$1,490 weekly = $15/hr on W2 $890 weekly per diem
No local Candidates are accepted within 50miles

Job Overview
We're seeking a skilled Sterile Processing Technician for a day-shift assignment. This role is essential in ensuring all surgical instruments and equipment are properly cleaned, inspected, packaged, and sterilized to support safe patient care.

Responsibilities
Reassemble and package instrument sets per department policies and manufacturer IFUs.
Perform manual and mechanical cleaning of reusable instruments and equipment.
Inspect instruments for cleanliness, defects, and proper functionality.
Use electronic equipment to inspect electrosurgical instruments and cables.
Restock Specialty Carts and Omnicell as needed.
Document sterilization and processing steps accurately in the SPD Information System.
Sterilize instrument sets per protocols and IFUs.
Pick supplies for same-day/next-day surgical cases.
Answer customer calls and assist with urgent requests (STAT/ASAP).

Required Skills & Experience
Basic computer skills
Understanding of basic medical terminology
Ability to perform detailed, repetitive work accurately
Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
Strong critical thinking and ability to work independently

Education & Certifications
Required:High School Diploma or GED
CRCST or CSPDT certification
BLS AHA certified
Covid vaccination/Exemption
2 supervisor references
