General Summary:

The Security Operations Center Supervisor directly supervises and monitors the daily activities of the Security Operations Center (SOC) for all campuses with primary responsibility for their assigned team members. This position will primarily work out of the SOC but may be expected to work at any Bayhealth Facility. During the activation of the Emergency Operations Center, acts as the Command Center call taker. This position also assists the Managers and Director in the management of the Public Safety Department, as assigned.

As an experienced member of the Bayhealth Public Safety team, this incumbent is responsible for ensuring the security, safety, and well-being of all Bayhealth Properties and individuals within. The incumbent is a leader within the department and over an assigned team. The incumbent is responsible for leadership functions to include scheduling, training, hiring, discipline, and mentoring. Their role is to implement tactics within their shift to ensure that the department and organizational missions are met. During times of staff shortage or emergent situations, overtime may be required.

Department team members are authorized to have limited access to secured medication rooms to perform duties and responsibilities as defined in this job description. Any staff member requiring limited access to secured medication rooms must have a fully completed and signed Medication Security Agreement for Non-Licensed Personnel form on file and available upon request.

Responsibilities:

• Directly supervises the Security Operations Center(s) and team. Responsible for coordinating and monitoring security, safety, and patient transport activities through the security operations center.
• Performs all duties of the SOC Dispatcher as needed. Ensure staff are trained to all duties of the job including but not limited to: the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system, all modes of communication to include radio use and basic troubleshooting, hospital and offsite locations and orientations, Emergency Codes, Emergency Messaging System, security post orders and responses, monitoring the fire alarm system, access control system, the camera system, duress alarms, electronic medical record, and disaster equipment set up and location.
• Ensure that all staff adhere to the training standards of IAHSS, Department Training, Bayhealth Policies and Procedures.
• Completes performance evaluation for all assigned staff.
• Conducts interviews of applicants and orients staff assigned.
• Develops and implements standard operating procedures for the Security Operations Center that support the department and organization's missions.
• Ensures that 100% of required security inspections are complete.
• Reviews all Security dispatch reports, safety violations and shift logs for errors, content and completion. Report incidents and other pertinent information to the Managers and Director for review. Ensure any relevant CCTV is preserved.
• Acts as the operational public safety representative for all matters relating to public safety technology systems. Monitors, maintains, and improves these systems. Is the subject matter expert for security technologies.
• Act as senior Security representative during emergencies until relieved by the department manager or director. Ensure that notifications to appropriate hospital staff are made and assign Security personnel to locations in the hospital to effectively handle the situation.
• Vehicles/Equipment: Responsible for the Bayhealth vehicle fleet ensuring timely maintenance is performed and accurate records are maintained on each vehicle. Responsible for the control of locks and keys.
• Enforce all Delaware Criminal Laws as necessary for crimes committed while on Bayhealth Property and in conjunction with assigned duties.
• Attend the Security Department meetings as required.
• Submit written reports, investigate incidents, follow up investigations, make recommendations to prevent and correct incidents as delegated by the leadership team.
• Must be able to successfully complete all required departmental training programs within required time frames. Training includes but is not limited to: Handcuffing Certification, Oleoresin Capsicum Certification, De-Escalation Training, and IAHSS Certifications.
• All other duties as assigned within the scope and range of job responsibilities.
  
  

Required Education, Credential(s) and Experience:

• Education: High School Diploma or GED
• Credential(s): Driver License & Driving Record Required. Basic Life Support -Within 90 days, if not already obtained. Current Delaware Driver’s License; must be at least 21 years of age, with no more than 3 moving violations or accidents in the past 3 years due to insurance carrier requirements; and less than 6 points.
• Experience: Required: Three (3) years of security, law enforcement, or emergency dispatch experience.
  
  

Preferred Education, Credential(s) and Experience:

• Education: Associate Degree in Criminal Justice Or a degree in Security Management, or Law Enforcement-related studies.
• Credential(s): IAHSS Supervisor Certification
• Experience: Preferred:Three (3) years of hospital security or hospital dispatch experience, with 1 year of leadership experience.
