Location: Sussex Campus Hospital, Milford Delaware

Status: Full Time 80 Hours Biweekly

Shift: Days; Friday - Tuesday 7:30a - 4:00p

SALARY RANGE: 16.57 - 24.86 HOURLY

General Summary:

The periodic automatic replenishment (PAR) Technician is responsible for performing all tasks related to the specific position in a timely manner and meeting or exceeding the supervisor’s communicated expectations.

Responsible for inventory management of clean supply rooms, medication rooms, nourishment rooms, point-of-use systems, and other supply storage areas using the Periodic Automatic Replenishment (PAR) process in a clean and orderly fashion.

Provide exceptional customer service, dedication to patient care, and ability to work well independently or as a member of the team.

Understands basic supply chain, LEAN, Six Sigma, and medical terminology. Follows all applicable policies, procedures, and manufacturer guidelines.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilizing the Periodic Automatic Replenishment (PAR) process, daily Inventory reconciliation: comparing inventory records to actual stock levels in clean supply storage areas.
  • Utilizing LEAN, Six Sigma methods including 2-bin Kanban, replenish inventory in clean supply storage areas.
  • Manages expiration dates of items in clean or sterile supply storage areas using First In First Out (FIFO) and lean procedures. Pulls expired or short-dated products from shelves and replaces them with viable products.
  • Utilizes all point-of-use systems to manage inventory appropriately. Restocks inventory manually or with MHE. Escalates inventory concerns, inaccurate inventory locations, or potential for errors. Participates in cycle counting and inventory analysis.
  • Maintain inventory control records and assist with inventory counts using the ERP system. Alert management of out-of-stock or low-stock-level items.
  • Responsible for receipt, distribution, and delivery of resources, supplies, and equipment, including, but not limited to, disposable medical supplies/equipment, biohazardous items, human tissue, implants, confidential items, linen, Personal Protected Information (PHI) and mail.
  • Responsible to maintain and document chain of custody within Materials Management Information System (MMIS) system for all packages and deliveries.
  • Partners with department leaders, supply chain operations leaders, and/or the Procurement team to facilitate product evaluations/ trials, conversions, and substitutions.
  • Actively participates in recall management, monitors inventory for expirations or loss, and escalates issues, concerns, or questions.
  • Required to handle and distribute non-controlled medication solutions. Required to work in areas where patient-specific medications are stored. Supply Chain staff are expected and authorized to transport locked and secured medications. Any staff member requiring limited access to secured medication rooms must have a fully completed and signed Medication Security Agreement for Non-Licensed Personnel form on file and available upon request.
  • Communicating with customers and staff, answering phone calls and emails, interacting with customers, and handling questions or complaints. Effectively communicating with teams and clinical partners to ensure the product is available at the right place, at the right time, and in the right quantity.
  • Takes personal accountability for the in-stock condition of assigned supply rooms. Using 5-S techniques, keeps all supply storage areas neat, clean, and in order. Acts as supply chain liaison to internal customers and assists with all supply chain requests from assigned units.
  • Operates efficiently in electronic inventory management systems, receiving, counting, and decrementing inventories in accordance with department SOP.
  • Applies and adheres to LEAN principles according to division performance improvement methodology
  • As needed, unload, sort, and break down inbound shipments and staging materials per standard operating procedures (SOP). Validate shipping quantity and quality at the item level, escalating issues, concerns, or questions.

  • All other duties as assigned within the scope and range of department responsibilities.

Required Education, Credential(s) and Experience:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED ;
  • Credential(s): None Required
  • Experience: Required: No experience necessary.

Preferred: Six months or more of Health Care Supply Chain/LEAN/Six Sigma, Military, Warehouse, or other Inventory Management experience.

Preferred Education, Credential(s) and Experience:

  • Education: Certificate Program

Additional education in the field of Supply Chain, Logistics, or Healthcare.

  • Credential(s): Six Sigma Lean Green Belt Certified Lean Six Sigma or other Operational Efficiency credentials.
