SALARY RANGE: 77,105.60 - 119,537.60YEARLY
General Summary:
The Clinical Reviewer’s chief responsibility is to collect and submit reliable data to the appropriate database. This is accomplished through high ‐ quality data compilation, documentation and entry into MIDAS or relevant database or spreadsheet. The Clinical Reviewer works closely with the Performance Improvement Team to identify opportunities for clinical quality improvement. Core components for the role of Clinical Reviewer are listed below:
Responsibilities:
1. Timely and Accurate Data Collection and Reporting - Collects data components for the quality measure or audit accurately through the effective utilization of the hospital medical record systems. Escalates any concerns with trends, missing data points or deadlines promptly to the Performance Improvement Clinical Assessment Manager. Demonstrates applicability of the methodology and the reliability of definitions utilized by reviewers within the program through Inter‐Rater Reliability (IRR) testing. Identifies streamlining and process improvement opportunities in the data collection process. Demonstrates appropriate utilization of resources necessary to obtain valid, reliable data for entry into the appropriate database. Utilizes software applications for data collection and analysis. Responsible for the accurate and timely entry of data into the database and meets the associated deadlines. Participates in report validation for internal reports used for quality audits.
2. Works Effectively with Staff - Establishes effective working relationships with members of the hospital community. Serves as a resource on the CMS quality measures to the department and hospital.
3. Must maintain current knowledge on all CMS Inpatient and Outpatient Quality chart abstracted reporting and abstraction requirements and impact on documentation. Communicates upcoming changes and potential or current issues to the Performance Improvement Clinical Assessment Manager and the PI Clinical Specialist Team.
4. All other duties as assigned within the scope and range of job responsibilities.

Required: Minimum of three (3) years hospital experience.
Preferred: Database data entry and/or management experience. Clinical chart review and abstraction experience. Basic statistical knowledge.
