Solution Architect – Enterprise Data
Contract | 12 Months
We are seeking a Solution Architect – Enterprise Data for a contract opportunity with one of the nation's leading banking institutions. This role will help design and govern scalable, secure, and resilient data platform solutions across a modern enterprise data environment.
Location: Local candidates preferred in Buffalo, NY or Wilmington, DE. Hybrid onsite 4 days per week. Remote may be considered for the right candidate.
Role Overview
The Solution Architect will partner with product owners, engineers, data governance, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and domain architecture teams to translate business needs into end-to-end technical designs aligned with enterprise standards.
This role will support modern data platforms and patterns including Snowflake, Databricks, Apache Iceberg, lakehouse architecture, APIs, Kafka/event streaming, CI/CD, automation, and Azure cloud infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Define end-to-end architecture across data ingestion, processing, storage, and consumption layers
- Translate business and technical requirements into secure, scalable solution designs
- Create and maintain architecture artifacts, including Solution Architecture Documents
- Partner with Data Governance teams to support data access, compliance, and customer data protection
- Collaborate across engineering, product, cyber, infrastructure, and data teams
- Guide adoption of modern data patterns such as lakehouse, medallion architecture, API-based integrations, and event-driven systems
- Identify architectural risks and ensure solutions meet performance, resiliency, security, and compliance expectations
Required Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in solution architecture, enterprise architecture, or senior engineering roles
- Experience designing modern data platforms and distributed systems
- Strong understanding of data lakehouse, event-driven, and API-based architecture patterns
- Hands-on knowledge of cloud data platforms such as Snowflake and Databricks
- Familiarity with Apache Iceberg, CI/CD, automation, and cloud infrastructure; Azure preferred
- Ability to work across technical and business teams and translate complex needs into practical architecture solutions
