Job Summary:
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented laboratory professional to join a well-established and collaborative Quality Control Microbiology team at our Berkeley, CA facility. In this onsite, hands-on role, the successful candidate will play a critical part in supporting the timely release of commercial and clinical products by performing a variety of microbiological assays in a GMP environment. Responsibilities:
- Support day-to-day operations within the QC microbiology laboratory
- Perform microbiological testing on in-process, clinical, and commercial samples to support product release timelines
- Conduct growth promotion testing and other compendial microbiological assays
- Ensure all testing activities are carried out in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), regulatory guidelines, and safety protocols
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and orderliness within the laboratory environment
- Support method verifications for clinical and commercial products
- Demonstrate the ability to learn new techniques and achieve proficiency in a timely manner
- Collaborate effectively with a team of 5 to 7 analysts and specialists to meet product release schedules
- Utilize aseptic technique when performing laboratory tasks
- Prioritize and manage multiple diverse activities simultaneously while meeting schedule commitments
- Occasionally work overtime, weekends, or holidays as needed to support operational demands
Skills:
- Strong working knowledge of GMP regulations and laboratory compliance requirements
- Proficiency in performing microbiological assays using aseptic technique
- Familiarity with compendial requirements (e.g., USP, EP) is a plus
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also thriving in a team-oriented environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Proven ability to follow written procedures and SOPs

Experience:
- 1 to 2 years of relevant laboratory experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry

- Background in pharmaceutical or biotech product release testing is a plus
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Microbiology or a related scientific field is required
