Job Summary:
This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a critical cost savings initiative within the Quality Control Microbiology & Sterilization department. The successful candidate will play a key role in evaluating the feasibility of packaging modifications for existing medical devices, working closely with packaging and sterilization engineers to analyze and document proposed changes. This role requires meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills to ensure accurate data collection and analysis that will directly impact product development decisions. The position involves comprehensive research of current packaging specifications, mathematical analysis of proposed modifications, and systematic documentation of findings to support engineering decisions.
Responsibilities:
• Research and document current packaging materials, dimensions, weights, and densities for products under evaluation using the electronic document control system
• Organize and present data in clear, easy-to-understand Excel-based formats
• Document proposed packaging changes for each product under evaluation following guidance from the packaging engineer
• Calculate the impact of proposed changes on overall product weight, dimensions, and density using basic mathematical formulas
• Review analytical results with packaging and sterilization engineers to obtain guidance and direction
• Evaluate alternative packaging changes as directed based on data analysis results
• Update existing Excel spreadsheets to reflect new dimensions, weights, and densities once changes are finalized
• Verify accuracy of all work through thorough self-review prior to submission
• Maintain frequent communication with project stakeholders through routine check-ins, approximately twice weekly
• Proactively identify and communicate obstacles or roadblocks to avoid project delays
Skills:
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Ability to independently perform mathematical calculations using Excel formulas
• Strong attention to detail with commitment to quality assurance

Qualifications:
• Associate's Degree required
• Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Knowledge or experience with medical devices preferred
• Knowledge or experience with product packaging preferred
• Knowledge or experience with sterilization of medical devices preferred
