Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated laboratory professional to join our dynamic analytical team. In this role, you will play a critical part in supporting a high-throughput laboratory environment by receiving, preparing, and analyzing a diverse range of samples in accordance with established ISO work instructions. Working under close supervision and relying on pre-established guidelines, you will contribute to the accurate and efficient delivery of analytical results that directly impact customer satisfaction. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a science or engineering professional with one to three years of experience to develop their technical skills and grow within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team setting.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, identify, and prepare incoming samples, ensuring correct labeling and that appropriate analyses have been requested
- Prepare and analyze samples in accordance with ISO work instructions and established laboratory protocols
- Prioritize analyses based on customer needs and available laboratory capacity
- Organize and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously within a high-throughput laboratory environment
- Obtain, record, and ensure the integrity of analytical data
- Collaborate effectively within multi-disciplinary teams to deliver laboratory results in a timely and efficient manner
- Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation used for a variety of analytical techniques
Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data integrity
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced laboratory environment
- Effective communication and teamwork skills within multi-disciplinary groups
- Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
- Hands-on experience with one or more of the following analytical techniques is preferred: total combustion analysis, elemental analysis, calorimetry, Gas Chromatography (GC), NIR Spectroscopy, NMR, total oil analysis, colorimetry, falling number, farinograph, mixograph, and bench-top wet chemical analyses
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Biology, or a related scientific or engineering field
- A minimum of three years of related industry experience required; directly applicable experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirements
