Crop Efficiency & Disease Trait Development Scientist II (Plant Biotechnology)
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role, Crop Efficiency & Disease Trait Development Scientist II (Plant Biotechnology), are:
- Leads and contributes to scientific research projects, technologies, publications, intellectual property, and trade secrets;
- Accountable for cross-functional work in multiple projects for Crop Efficiency & Disease Traits areas;
- Designs, conducts, and analyzes complex molecular experiments;
- Effectively communicates experimental plans, results of experiments, production KPIs (Key Performance Indicators), and cost/benefit analysis to partners and key stakeholders;
- Achieves commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols and best practices;
- Prioritizes and coordinates work and provides training to team members while maintaining detailed record keeping and required documentation.

Required Qualifications:
- PhD OR Master's degree OR Bachelor's degree;
- Strong Molecular Biology and/or Crop Physiology background;
- Ability to independently design and execute experiments, analyze data, and communicate results clearly with stakeholders in written and verbal form;
- Passion and creativity for solving problems;
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, and agility to shift efforts with changing priorities with track record of delivering results with established timelines;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Ability to build strong relationships and networks across functions and teams while expanding knowledge base through continuous learning.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Five or more years of relevant experience (including academic or industrial experience post undergraduate);
- Prior experience in genomics, molecular biology and/or crop physiology;
- Proficiency with statistical data analysis and visualization software;
- Experience leading cross functional projects or working groups;
- Track record of success in data science or informatics utilizing large data sets.
Domestic relocation may be available for this role.

Position will be located in Chesterfield, Missouri (St. Louis area).
Position may include opportunity to work up to 40% remote.
