Position Overview
BayCare Medical Group is seeking a qualified candidate with academic and leadership experience to serve in a new role as the founding program director of the Internal Medicine Residency Program at North Bay Hospital, New Port Richey, Florida. The ideal candidate must be clinically active, either ambulatory or hospital-based, demonstrating ongoing academic involvement, passion for resident education, plus a desire to collaborate with his or her colleagues.
Opportunity Requirements:
- Responsible for the leadership, organization, operation, and administration of the Internal Medicine Residency Program welcoming its first class in 2024.
- Establish the strategic direction of the program while maintaining the standards, quality, and reputation of the program
- Integrate the program with physician practices and hospital services in a way that enhances value and quality and promotes an optimal environment for professional practice and medical education .
- Follow ACGME /Internal Medicine RC requirements and other regulating entities on structuring and managing the internal medicine residency program.
- Plan and direct activities associated with the residency program
Qualifications
- American Board of Internal Medicine certified
- Valid M.D. or D.O degree
- Licensure to practice medicine in Florida or eligibility for such licensure
- 3 years of teaching experience
- 3 years of leadership experience
