Candidates�MUST�reside in the state of Florida or be willing to relocate. This is a fully remote position; however, occasional on-site, after-hours/weekend work may be required.�
The�VMware Engineer�will be responsible for and involved in:
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with implementation teams to ensure implementation meets design.
- Expert level with 8 years of experience implementing, and supporting highly available enterprise infrastructures.
- Expert-level with 8 years’ experience in private cloud computing and Data Center virtualization using VMware (ESXi, vCenter, NSX, VDI).
- Expert-level Installing, Configuring & Managing VMware ESXi 5.x, 6.x and 7.x Servers.
- Expert-level Installing, Configuring & Managing VMware Virtual Center / Appliance 6.x and 7.x
- 8 years of experience with server administration of VMware 5.x/6.x, Windows Server (2008 R2/2012 R2), and hands-on experience deploying Blade Systems preferably Cisco B-Series.
- 3 Years of VDI and VMware Horizon View deployment experience with focus on infrastructure and performance tuning.
- Experience with converged and hyper-converged server platforms preferably Cisco Systems, but would consider Nutanix/VXRAIL or other appliances and platforms.
- Extensive experience with the following storage technologies and protocols: HBAs, SAN, Fiber Channel, NAS, and CIFS/NFS/iSCSI. Preferably Tintri but would consider EMC or others.
- In-depth understanding of DNS, TCP/IP, HTTP, DHCP, server virtualization, and Active Directory integration.
- Experience in a multi-domain environment, preferably with sites across WAN connections.
- Must have a VMware Certifications (VCP5 or VCP-DCV and VCP-NV).
Specific Knowledge/Skills:
- Very Strong knowledge of VMware Products (vCenter 6/7, ESXi 6/7, vSAN, Insight 4x, NSX-T) installation, configuration, Management and troubleshooting
- Strong Experience with VMware automation, scripting, PowerShell, power CLI
- Strong technical knowledge of Cisco UCS Blade Chassis
- Strong technical knowledge of UCS Manager
- Strong technical knowledge of hardware configuration, support and maintenance
- Strong technical knowledge of Networking, Storage, DNS, NTP, SQL, Microsoft AD
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks for multiple projects simultaneously
- Performance management, Capacity management, Monitoring Trends, Root Cause Analysis skills and Operational Support.
- Windows Server 2008/2012/2016 Operating System administration.
- Linux Operating System installation and management.
- VMware vCenter Management
- VMware ESX/VSphere knowledge and experience with Storage Area Networks including EMC and Tintri.
- HPSM, BMC Remedy, Service Now or similar ticketing & escalation systems
Qualifications and Certifications for the following areas desirable:
- 8 years of combined infrastructure, experience is preferred.
- Experience with medium to large VMware environments, 200 ESXi hosts or 1500 virtual servers.
- Experience in large Cisco UCS environments, 200 blades.
- Storage administration as it relates to host and VM placement and performance.
- VMware VCP-DCV and VCP-NV
- Cisco CCNA Cloud
- AWS and or Azure
- Windows2008/2012/2016 Certification
- ITIL v2 or v3
