We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Collections Specialist to join our team! Duties & Responsibilities:
Oversee the collection process for overdue accounts, working to resolve disputes and ensure timely payments
Contact customers via phone on past due balances, declined credit cards, bad checks etc.
Send out past due invoices with notes to customers via Quickbooks
Work with commercial sales team closely regarding past dues and collection updates
Run Stop report in Quickbooks daily
Put accounts on / take off “Do Not Service” in Salesforce and “Stop” in Quickbooks, and notify sales team
Run aging reports weekly and update with notes for managers and sales team members responsible for the customer account status
Send out 10-day letters on unpaid balances via certified mail
Send past due accounts to collection agencies as needed
Attend small claims court as needed
Keep executive management informed of any large past due accounts
New account application credit terms approval
Process the Certificates of Insurance and Subrogations
Complete W-9 customer requests
Backup AR and HR when needed
Qualifications:
High school diploma required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred
1 to 3 years of credit and collection experience
1 plus years of HR experience preferred
Strong understanding of accounting principles
Strong written and verbal communication abilities
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Strong knowledge of QuickBooks
Knowledge of Salesforce preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and office management software
