What are the responsibilities and job description for the Client Service Representative – Print CSR position at Bay State Envelope (BSE Print Solutions)?
Client Service Representative – Print & Production
BSE Print | Mansfield, MA | Full-Time, In Person
BSE Print is looking for a dependable, self-directed Client Service Representative to join our front-office team.
This is a hands-on client service and order management role. You will work directly with customers, enter and manage print orders, prepare quotes, coordinate with production, and make sure details do not fall through the cracks.
We are looking for someone who takes ownership of their work, follows through, and can figure out what needs to happen next without constant direction.
Print industry experience is helpful, but not required. For someone coming from another industry, we are looking for strong client service experience, work ethic, attention to detail, and the drive to learn our business.
What You'll Do
- Communicate with customers by phone and email
- Enter orders and job specifications accurately into our system
- Review incoming requests and make sure the information needed for production is complete
- Prepare estimates and pricing for routine work
- Follow jobs from order entry through completion
- Coordinate with production when questions, changes, or problems arise
- Follow up with customers and internal teams rather than assuming something is being handled
- Help maintain customer information, pricing, files, and documentation
- Assist with client ordering portals and online programs as that part of our business grows
- Look for opportunities to solve problems and make working with BSE easier for our customers
This is primarily a client service and order-management position, not a commissioned sales role, although stronger team members may naturally help grow existing accounts over time.
What Matters Most
- Strong follow-through and personal accountability
- Accurate data entry and attention to detail
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple active jobs
- Comfortable communicating professionally with customers
- Ability to work independently and make reasonable decisions
- Willingness to investigate a question or problem before immediately handing it to someone else
- Comfortable asking for help when it is actually needed
- Dependability and a strong work commitment
- Interest in learning our customers, products, and processes over time
We especially value people who take pride in becoming knowledgeable and dependable rather than simply completing the task in front of them.
Experience
We are open to different backgrounds.
Relevant experience may include:
- Commercial printing, envelopes, promotional products, apparel, signage, or related industries
- Customer service or account coordination
- Order entry or job-ticket environments
- Estimating or quoting
- Manufacturing or production support
- Print MIS/ERP systems
- Web-to-print or customer ordering portals
Commercial print experience is a strong plus, but not required for the right person.
Long-Term Opportunity
There is room for the position to develop based on ability, performance, and interest.
Someone who becomes highly knowledgeable about their customers and our operation may gradually take on broader account responsibility, estimating, problem solving, client development, or other responsibilities.
We are a small company, so advancement does not necessarily mean moving away from the work. Stronger people generally earn broader responsibility and greater ownership.
Before You Apply
This position is probably a good fit if you:
- Want a long-term position where you can become an important part of a small team
- Are comfortable being responsible for your own workload and follow-through
- Can accurately manage detailed orders and information
- Prefer solving reasonable problems yourself before escalating them
- Are willing to learn an industry rather than expecting to know everything immediately
We will ask a few short questions during the application process about your work history, client service experience, and how you approach problems and follow-through.
