Role Description The Bay Soccer Club Youth Trainer is an hourly paid role, ideally providing 30-40 hrs during each season- from Fall, Winter and Spring. Responsible for delivering high-quality soccer training sessions for youth players across 1-2 age groups. In season, week to week tasks include planning and leading practices, teaching fundamental soccer skills, and designing drills that build fitness, coordination, and game understanding. The Youth Trainer provides constructive feedback, fosters good sportsmanship, and supports players’ physical and mental development in a safe, inclusive environment. The role involves regular communication and end of year player evaluations with the Bay Soccer Club Director of Player Development for Girls. The Youth Trainer can also help with camps, clinics, and club events, ensuring consistency with Bay Soccer Club’s training philosophy and standards.
Qualifications
- ASSOCIATE TRAINER: U.S. Soccer (USSF) Grassroots or the United Soccer Coaches (NSCAA) Coaching Development Course which corresponds with the Age Group game format – i.e. 4v4, 7v7, 9v9, or 11v1. E-license pre-2017 & State D license
- MID LEVEL TRAINER: U.S. Soccer (USSF) National D-license or the United Soccer Coaches (NSCAA) National Diploma
- SR LEVEL TRAINER: U.S. Soccer (USSF) C-license (or higher) or the United Soccer Coaches (NSCAA) Advanced National Diploma
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Sports Coaching and Teaching, with the ability to plan and lead age-appropriate training sessions.
- Candidates should possess effective Communication skills to interact with players, families, and club staff in a clear, respectful manner.
- Additional beneficial qualifications include prior youth coaching experience, relevant coaching certifications or licenses, and familiarity with child development and safety best practices.
- Ability to work on-site in Bay Village OH, and surrounding cities, maintain a professional, inclusive coaching environment, and adapt training methods to diverse skill levels.
