Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Personal Assistant Care Givers to provide exceptional support and care to individuals in various settings, including home, community, assisted living, and long-term care facilities. The ideal candidate will assist with daily activities, monitor health status, and promote independence while ensuring safety and comfort for those under their care. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with diverse needs, including seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those requiring specialized memory or dementia care.
Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Provide medication administration and monitor vital signs in accordance with care plans
- Support patients with mobility using equipment such as Hoyer lifts or transfer belts; assist with heavy lifting when necessary
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with meal planning and preparation
- Observe and document patient condition, behavior, and responses to treatments or interventions
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through light housekeeping and sanitation tasks
- Implement individualized care plans developed by healthcare professionals or social workers
- Support patients with cognitive impairments such as Alzheimer’s disease or dementia through memory care techniques
- Assist with transportation to appointments or community activities as needed
- Follow HIPAA guidelines to ensure confidentiality of patient information
- Collaborate effectively with healthcare teams, family members, and other caregivers to provide comprehensive support
Skills
- Proven experience in home & community care, assisted living, nursing homes, or long-term care environments
- Knowledge of patient monitoring, medication Management, and first aid/CPR certification preferred
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or dementia required
- Strong caregiving skills including assisting with ADLs and providing compassionate patient-centered support
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate mobility aids such as Hoyer lifts
- Excellent observation skills for patient safety and health status changes
- Effective communication skills for working with patients, families, and healthcare teams
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards in healthcare settings
- Compassionate attitude with patience for working with seniors or individuals facing complex health challenges such as hospice or memory care needs
