QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma with at least 60 college hours or Associate Degree or have passed the ParaPro Praxis Exam.
- Demonstrates competence for assigned responsibilities.
- Typing ability preferred.
- Possesses positive interpersonal relations skills.
- Commitment to the importance of confidentiality of records.
- Evidence of a strong commitment to quality desegregated education.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Supports teachers and students in the classroom setting to ensure high-quality educational goals are met
2. Assists teachers in routine classroom operations
3. Reinforces instructional activities with students as prescribed.
4. Assists in the preparation of lesson plans and instructional materials
5. Assumes responsibility for being prepared to perform instructional duties as prescribed
6. Learn the curriculum content of the classes in which he/she assists
7. Assists individual children in need of special attention
8. Implements behavior management techniques
9. Assists in data collection
10. Assists the teacher with maintenance of the classroom
11. Assist with duties such as lunchroom, recess, bus, etc.
12. Participates in inservices, staffing, faculty meetings, etc.
13. Completes daily work schedules as assigned.
14. Performs all other duties as assigned.
