Position Overview
Bay Elementary School is seeking a patient, organized, and reliable Intervention Paraprofessional to support our early childhood literacy and numeracy goals. This position works directly under the supervision of classroom teachers and the building principal to provide targeted support to students who require additional assistance in foundational skills.
Key Responsibilities

Small Group Instruction: Lead Tier 2 interventions in phonics, letter recognition, and basic counting using district-provided curricula.

Classroom Support: Assist the teachers with daily transitions and material preparation.

Progress Monitoring: Help track student data and observations to assist teachers in identifying learning gaps.

Behavioral Support: Implement positive behavior reinforcement strategies to maintain a focused and encouraging classroom environment.

Supervision: Assist with duties as assigned, which may include breakfast/lunch monitoring or bus duty.
Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or GED AND one of the following:

Completion of at least 60 college credit hours.

An Associate’s Degree or higher.

A passing score on the ParaPro Assessment (ETS).

Skills: Strong communication skills and a fundamental understanding of early childhood development.

Requirements: Must pass all Arkansas state-mandated background checks (FBI/DFA/Child Maltreatment).
